Rona Allen & In The Light Band

Rona Allen and IN THE LIGHT BAND, one of New York City’s premier Jazz groups is a rare combination of the world’s finest musicians. The group consists of the beautiful and sultry Rona Allen.  Ms. Allen the lead vocalist for IN THE LIGHT BANDhas many years of experience in the music and theatre world.  She is a dynamic and versatile entertainer and has been compared to Pop Jazz singer Sade, as well as projecting her own unique ‘singing style’.  Recently Zen Zadravec, Jazz pianist/saxaphonist and Musical Director has joined the In The Light Band to bring their audiences unique and exciting music of the ‘Jazz genre’. 

The other members of In The Light Band consists of: Mike Torres (guitarist & vocals), Abner Torres (drums), Eugene Ghee (saxophone), Alex Hernandez (bass) and Matthew Chertkoff (guitar).  Collectively they have played with legendary performers such as, Shakira, Chaka Khan, Julio Iglesias, David Byrne, Digable Planets, Stevie Wonder, Gloria Gaynor, and Onaje Allan Gumbs.  The group delivers ‘soulful sounds’ of fusion R&B/Jazz with Afro-Caribbean flavors for your listening pleasure.   Their music is touted as, "an energetic and spiritually uplifting force" and as a "hot band... [that] stole the show”!

In The Light Bandhas performed at venues such as, The famed Blue Note one of New York's premier Jazz Club, Mo Pitkins, The National Arts Club,The British Virgin Island Music Festival, Jazz on The Hill Music Festival, Chat 19 and were ’highlighted’-at  political fund-raisers for President Barack Obama and Senator John Kerry.
