Jaine Rogers

Jaine Rogers displayed a talent for singing from an early age, and it was the spiritual influences of her formative years in the UK, that immersed her in soulful gospel music and led to her singing in various gospel groups and choirs. Her love for jazz was born the first time she heard Nat King Cole’s “When I Fall In Love”. She found his gentle, uncomplicated, yet sincere delivery of a lyric to be reminiscent of the music of her childhood. After moving to Anguilla, British West Indies, Jaine began singing jazz in 1999 and has performed at various music venues within the Eastern Caribbean, where her vivid transformation from unassuming observer to beguiling performer has been witnessed by many.

Inspired by the music of Nat ‘King’ Cole and other jazz greats, such as Louis Armstrong, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan and Frank Sinatra, Jaine’s velvet smooth, enchanting vocals are reminiscent of the jazz vocalists of yesteryear, wrapped in modern day flair.

Jaine’s album “Under Your Skin” will be released in the summer of 2009. It was recorded under the musical direction of Master Drummer Michael Carvin and produced by Anguilla Music Publishing and Production Company.
